From her transition out of high school in New York City, to discovering her direction during college in the South, and ultimately stepping into leadership roles within both the military and the mental health field, Kiana experienced firsthand how overwhelming, and often unsupported, life's major turning points can be.
Through every chapter of her journey, one truth remained consistent:
Next Move Academy was created to change that.
Kiana holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Clark Atlanta University, with a concentration in Children and Family Therapy. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Juvenile Justice from North Carolina Central University.
Her professional experience spans roles in law enforcement as a 911 operator, school, community, and medical social work, and youth-centered support, culminating in her current position as a sergeant in the Georgia Army National Guard. Collectively, these experiences have shaped her holistic, strength-based approach to mentorship and development.
This academy is for young adults who are capable, talented, and full of potential, yet may not yet have the exposure, confidence, or practical tools to navigate what comes next.
